Enrollment into our Riding Academy for riding lessons students will need to make a commitment per semester. The year is divided into quarters. Winter: Jan 1- March 31, Spring: April 1 - June 30, Summer: July 1 - September 30, Fall: October 1- December 31. We have a few different options for riders. You can work in the curriculum-based track or those who are interested in showing can focus on the competition track. Riders under 7 years of age will be enrolled in our Rainbow Riders Program.
Student will be considered enrolled for the entire semester. Pre-payment for the semester is preferable, or you may choose to pay by the month. Payment will be set up via automatic draft unless another form of payment has been received prior to the automatic draft.
We do not accept cancellations. We do realize that life happens & it can get crazy & scary sometimes. We try to be accommodating when we can, but this is our livelihood and it is too difficult to fill a lesson spot last minute. We also have an extremely high overhead in providing this program & we have to make sure that we keep our openings filled. Lessons will be held rain or shine for regular lesson students enrolled quarterly. Students who sign up for introductory lessons or drop-in lessons will be attempted to be rescheduled if there is availability with the instructors. We do have a curriculum that we use for unmounted and horsemanship lessons.
If you are running late to your lesson we will still end your lesson at your scheduled time. Once your are familiar with the horses & are able to groom your horse & tack up independently you will need to arrive early to prepare your horse so that you are ready to ride at the start of your lesson.
Sometimes we have to cancel lessons due to severe weather or another issue. No news is always good news! We will always notify you for inclement or dangerous weather.
Please make sure that you bring a signed Liability Release Form to your first lesson. We now have a digital copy emailed to you after booking your lesson. Anyone under 18 must have a signature from both parents. Anyone that is on the farm property needs to sign a release form whether they are the student or not.
Please make sure that you wear proper attire for your lessons. Boots should be english riding style boots. They can either be paddock boots with the zipper or you may use tall english riding boots. If you wear paddock boots, half chaps are recommended as the stirrup leathers can rub your legs. Boots should have a smooth sole and 1/2" heel.
You may wear breeches, riding tights or leggings. Shirts can be long or short sleeved. Riding gloves are highly recommended. If you wear rings you must either wear gloves or leave your rings off. A leather belt may be worn. Please secure any long hair with a ponytail holder. Hairnets are optional. We have riding helmets available if you do not have one.
Lessons are available for ages 5 & up.
For the welfare of our horses, students need to weigh no more than 200lbs. We do not currently have horses in our program that will accommodate students over 200lbs.
