RD Extra Side Gun (Kayce) has been such a fun horse to bring along! He was once trained as a reining horse & I have been reworking him in western dressage. It can be a challenge sometimes to take a reining trained horse and get them working correctly for western dressage, but he is doing so well & we have been focusing on biomechanics and correct muscle development. A lot of reining tend to have a lot of upside down neck muscling. He is getting stronger & has such a wonderful work ethic. His owner is recovering from an injury, but hopefully soon we can get them back working together. He is such a FUN horse to work with! I feel so blessed to have all these amazing horses to work with!
This is a new headstall that I bought him at Southern Equine Expo. I'm sorry, I don't remember the name of the vendor. This leather is grippy & buttery soft! I love the weight of these split reins and how they feel in my hands. They drape very well & enable a lot of feel through them.
